Google maps of all the whiskydistilleries in the world

I made a set of three maps on googlemaps to display all the distilleries making whisky in the whole wide world :-)

The aim is first and foremost to show the EXACT locations of distilleries, to help as travel guides and for the geography nerds out there, myself included

I do put distillieries on the map when they are in production, or if closed, bottles are still "ready available"

My main sources are : Malt Whisky Yearbok, Sku's recent eats, Whiskyportal, twitter and google :-)

    Hi Mac,
    Slotsbryggeriet Føniks in Gavnø/Næstved (DK) is missing on your 'Rest of the world' map.

    Hi Stefan. I just need confirmed they have put down stuff for maturation before they are elible :)

    Right, I see... and you are right. But then you should update #4 of this list. Ørbæk released their first bottling last month ;-)

    What would be GREAT is if you could publish the data as a downloadable GPX file for SatNavs. That would make a tour of the (Scottish) distilleries a lot easier...

    If I knew what you were talking about or how to do it, I would make it possible. But I have no idea how to translate my google maps to a GPX file. I can make a KML file if that helps you ?

    Btw. I don't know much on Google Maps, but is it possible to make kind of a menu or selection, eg. Working / Closed / In building etc.?

    Thanks for your updates

    I am well aware of these two new distilleries. I won't add anything to my map before a distillery is well in the production stage and have laid casks down to mature. I reckon it won't be long before Teeling can be added. I don't have any planned distilleries on my maps, but made this blogpost a while ago http://danishwhiskyblog.blogspot.dk/2013/10/upcoming-planned-and-rumoured.html

    I don't think you can sort pins on Google maps. I have just colour coded between open/closed and open with visitor centers. I haven't added anything closed before 1970 or so.
