The aim is first and foremost to show the EXACT locations of distilleries, to help as travel guides and for the geography nerds out there, myself included
I do put distillieries on the map when they are in production, or if closed, bottles are still "ready available"
NEW FEATURE Scotland : Visitor centres are marked
Here are the links :

Send me a mail if you spot an error or a missing distillery.

Hi Mac,
ReplyDeleteSlotsbryggeriet Føniks in Gavnø/Næstved (DK) is missing on your 'Rest of the world' map.
Slainte, Stefan
Hi Stefan. I just need confirmed they have put down stuff for maturation before they are elible :)
ReplyDeleteThey are mentioned here :http://danishwhiskyblog.blogspot.dk/2010/03/overview-of-danish-distilleries.html
Right, I see... and you are right. But then you should update #4 of this list. Ørbæk released their first bottling last month ;-)
ReplyDeleteAye, edited 4-6 actually :-), they all have stuff out now, thanks for pointing out Stefan
ReplyDeleteSteffen
... and forget about Føniks again. They had to lock their doors again before they could really opened them. See here:

(bad luck for my shares...)
This needs to be a large format pdf, I want one for my wall.
ReplyDeleteWhat would be GREAT is if you could publish the data as a downloadable GPX file for SatNavs. That would make a tour of the (Scottish) distilleries a lot easier...
ReplyDeleteDave (UK)
Hi Dave
ReplyDeleteIf I knew what you were talking about or how to do it, I would make it possible. But I have no idea how to translate my google maps to a GPX file. I can make a KML file if that helps you ?
Steffen
Hi,
ReplyDeleteGreat work, absolutely great !!!!
A little contribution ... you've missed:
Gartbreck Distillery
Moss Rd, Bowmore, Isle of Islay PA43 7JG, United Kingdom
That's the first I've spotted and I'll continue checking.
Great, great stuff, regards pal !!!!!

Btw. I don't know much on Google Maps, but is it possible to make kind of a menu or selection, eg. Working / Closed / In building etc.?
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Dario Grabaric, Croatia
Oh, just spotted missing
ReplyDeleteTeeling Whiskey Company
17 Newmarket, Dublin, Ireland
http://teelingwhiskey.com
... they've recently bought copper stills
Still amazed by your project,
Dario Grabaric, Croatia
Hi Dario
ReplyDeleteThanks for your updates
I am well aware of these two new distilleries. I won't add anything to my map before a distillery is well in the production stage and have laid casks down to mature. I reckon it won't be long before Teeling can be added. I don't have any planned distilleries on my maps, but made this blogpost a while ago http://danishwhiskyblog.blogspot.dk/2013/10/upcoming-planned-and-rumoured.html
Steffen
I don't think you can sort pins on Google maps. I have just colour coded between open/closed and open with visitor centers. I haven't added anything closed before 1970 or so.
Hi, again ;) (hope don't bother you too much)
ReplyDeletethere are also New Zealand distilleries missing

Hi Steffen
ReplyDeletejust saw a blogspot of the planned ones.
Hope soon there will be more of them to pin on the map :)
Keep the good work!
Dario
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am one of the owners of the Connacht Whiskey Compnay Ltd in Ireland and we also have a craft distillery in the USA. We have started laying down malt and rye whiskey and will be doing bourbon next. It is in Philadelphia, PA. It is called New Liberty Distillery and the website is: http://millstonespirits.com/
Thank you very much. New Liberty Distillery has been added to the maps
ReplyDeleteSteffen
Update link Trolden:

ReplyDeleteWWooowww! that's great, good job!!! Do you have only one worlwide map with all the distilleries ?
ReplyDeleteI have the 3 maps linked here. Only Scotland is 100% up to date. I am constantly working on other parts
